Improved Link Preview for Forums Discussions and Replies

We have improved link preview support for forum discussions and replies. The improvement to link preview means you no longer have to leave the URL before posting any new activity or discussions.

Enhancements to The Existing Features

• We have optimized the upload and send media workflow in private messages, resulting in improved performance and a smoother messaging experience.
• The GIPHY option in the dashboard now allows users to toggle the visibility of sensitive content with an eye icon, ensuring a more personalized and secure experience.
• As part of our continuous process for bringing consistency across the site experience when it comes to blocking and suspending users, we have improved the moderation features.

Bugs Solved This Month

• Forums: We have resolved the issue where the shortcode for hidden group discussions would throw permission errors for group members.
• Forums: Fixed the discussion reply ‘post’ button not being enabled in the responsive view on Android, ensuring seamless interaction.
• Forums: Resolved the layout issue with the ‘Recent Replies’ widget when using third-party Themes, offering a consistent visual experience.
• Forums: Fixed the layout issue with discussion replies pagination when the page number is out of range, improving navigation.
• Activity: Ensured accessibility of the ‘post’ button in the responsive view when the post content is significant, promoting inclusivity.
• Moderation: The suspended member group activity single screen no longer throws a 404 error, enhancing moderation efficiency.
• Core: Addressed a critical issue with the Presence PHP file, ensuring correct detection of active and inactive member status, even on non-English language sites.
• Core: Handled a critical conflict with the ‘BuddyBoss App’ plugin build screen, ensuring smooth integration.

We released a much-awaited feature for BuddyBoss Theme that you will definitely love. We also worked quite a bit to enhance the existing features. 

What’s New

Ability to Choose Different Homepage for Users Based on Login Status

Enhance User Experience with Customized Homepage for Logged-In and Logged-Out Users. With the latest update, you now have the ability to set a distinct homepage for logged-in and logged-out users on your blog. Create a personalized journey for your audience by redirecting them to different pages when they click on the Site Logo, based on their login status. Deliver targeted content, tailored recommendations, and a seamless browsing experience, all effortlessly managed through the intuitive BuddyBoss Theme Options.

Enhancements to The Existing Features

• Forums: Added styling for link preview support in forum discussions and replies, making information more visually appealing and accessible.
• Gutenberg: Provided support for the More, Page Break, Separator, and Spacer blocks, enhancing content creation flexibility.
• Core: Improved user experience by displaying a loading icon during form submission or reset, reducing user confusion.
• Core: The Theme License option in the dashboard now allows users to toggle the visibility of sensitive text, ensuring privacy.

BuddyBoss App

BuddyBoss app users will certainly have a better experience using it, as we released some useful enhancements this month, along with more than 50 bug fixes. Let’s take a look at some of the key ones.

Enhancements to The Existing Features

• Improved Moderation, providing more efficient management of group activities.
• We have added an indicator that highlights whether an activity post has been edited. This enhancement provides clarity and transparency, allowing users to easily identify updated content within the activity stream.
• Link Previews will now remain on a post even when URLs are removed, offering an improved visual experience.
• The BuddyBoss App Plugin has undergone several enhancements, including improved dropdown and select menus for better user experience during app configuration.

Bugs Solved This Month

• Fixed an iOS issue where some discussions were not displaying, leaving users with a continuous spinner.
• Increased the video player size for portrait videos, ensuring optimal viewing experience.
• Updated GamiPress points styling to match Ranks and Achievements for consistent visual aesthetics.
• Implemented a fix in Pusher integration to prevent removed users from accessing group messages.
• Fixed font sizes and spacing on lists to match the web experience seamlessly.
• Resolved the issue where the audio player was not functioning properly on Android, ensuring smooth playback.
• Addressed the problem of videos not rotating to landscape mode on iOS when in full screen.
• Made Vimeo video controls visible for offline videos on iOS 15 and below.
• Fixed API key connection to Apple Developer Account in BuddyBoss App Plugin.
• Adjusted visibility settings for Key ID and Issuer ID in the BuddyBoss App Plugin.
• Fixed the display issue of the Forum Tab link under the Profile section in the BuddyBoss App Plugin.
• Ensured the active icon color shows correctly on the Tab Bar preview in the BuddyBoss App Plugin’s Branding screen.
• Fixed font display issues on the mobile preview in the BuddyBoss App Plugin.
• Enabled deletion of bookmarks, which previously faced API failures, in the BuddyBoss App Plugin.
• Restored the availability of App Menu configuration, previously unavailable due to a fatal error.
