How to Fix Unable to Install Test App: “Integrity Could Not Be Verified” Error on iOS

Introduction

When installing a test build on iOS, you may encounter the alert “Integrity could not be verified.” This indicates that the provisioning profile or device registration doesn’t match the build. Follow the steps below to correct your Apple Developer settings, regenerate profiles, and register your device UDID so your test app can install successfully.

Verify Apple Developer Connection

  1. In your WordPress dashboard, navigate to BuddyBoss App > Configure > iOS Settings.
  2. Confirm the BuddyBoss plugin is connected to the correct Apple Developer account.

Enable Automatic Provisioning Profiles

  1. On the same iOS Settings page, scroll to Provisioning Profiles.
  2. Ensure Automatically generate provisioning profiles is enabled.

Regenerate the Provisioning Profile

  1. If an existing profile or UDID registration isn’t working, generate a fresh provisioning profile from the iOS Settings page.

Add Your Device UDID

  1. Go to BuddyBoss App > Configure > iOS Devices.
  2. Enter your device’s UDID to authorize it.

Note: Any changes here require you to create and upload a new iOS build.

Submit a New iOS Build

  1. After adding the UDID and regenerating profiles, generate a new iOS release build via BuddyBoss App > Build.

Troubleshooting and FAQs

Q: I still see the “Integrity could not be verified” error after completing these steps.
A: Make sure you’ve installed the new provisioning profile on your device (Settings > General > VPN & Device Management > Developer App). Then re-attempt installation.

Q: How can I find my device’s UDID?
A: Connect your iPhone to a Mac, open Finder (or iTunes on older macOS), select the device, and click its serial number to reveal the UDID.

Q: Do I need to revoke old profiles in Apple Developer?
A: Generally no—regenerating via BuddyBoss will update the existing profile. Q: Why does adding a UDID require a new build?
A: Provisioning profiles are embedded in the IPA at compile time.
