How to Install iOS Test Builds in Your BuddyBoss App

Introduction

Generating iOS Test Builds is effortless with our cloud-based build servers. They pull your site’s configuration, branding, menus, registered UDIDs, and even any GitHub-connected custom code, then compile everything into a native Test App with no Xcode required. This guide walks you through how you can install IOS test builds in your BuddyBoss App.

Registering iOS Test Devices

1. Go to WordPress Admin > BuddyBoss App > Configure > iOS Devices.

2. Click Add New Device.
   
3. Enter a Device Name (e.g., “Alex’s iPhone”).
   
4. Scan the QR code on your iPhone and Install the provisioning profile.
   
5. Click Refresh to confirm your device appears in the list.
   

Note: Each UDID you register requires a new Test Build. You can register up to 100 devices per Apple’s limit.

Requesting an iOS Test Build

1. Go to WordPress Admin > BuddyBoss App > Builds > Request Build.

2. Select iOS under Platforms.

3. Choose Test app for Build Type.
   
4. Click Next, review your app settings, then click Send Build Request.

5. Builds usually complete in 15–60 minutes—watch the progress with Recheck Status Now.

To check your build status of any build you can visit Buddyboss app > builds you will notice each card represent different build attempts within each card you will notice certain information for your reference such as;

1. Build number
2. Status
3. Platform type
4. Test or Release build
5. Date of the build 
6. Build number.
7. Download/Install Button

Installing the Test App

Once the build status shows Completed:

1. Click Install Test App on the iOS build card.
   
2. Scan the displayed QR code with your iPhone’s camera.
   
3. On the download page, tap Download Application, then Install.
   
4. Open the app, log in, and navigate your live Test Build exactly as configured.

Note: Android Test Apps require no UDID registration. Simply scan and install.

Switching Sites & Verifying Custom Code

Inside the Test App, use the site switcher to view any connected WordPress site. If you push new GitHub customizations, request another Test Build to see those changes in action—no App Store process needed.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

Q: My iPhone didn’t install the Test App.
A: Confirm you installed the provisioning profile under Settings > General > Device Management and that your UDID is listed in iOS Devices.

Q: QR code shows “Expired” or an error.
A: Re-request the Test Build, then use Recheck Status Now to regenerate a fresh install link.

Q: My UDID isn’t appearing after scan.
A: Tap Refresh on the iOS Devices page. Ensure the profile was installed successfully on your iPhone.

Q: Can I share the QR code?
A: Yes, anyone with a registered UDID and the QR code can install your Test App.
