Introduction
The BuddyBoss Platform lets you configure Login Logout Redirection to control where members land after logging in or out. You can set default pages, use custom URLs, or assign redirection rules by profile type for a more personalized experience. This guide walks you through configuring and testing these settings.

Configuring Login and Logout Redirection
Access Redirection Settings
- Log in to your WordPress Dashboard.
- Navigate to BuddyBoss > Settings.
- Click on the General tab.
- Scroll down to the Redirection section.
You will see two options:
- After Login – Choose the page users will be redirected to after logging in.
- After Logout – Choose the page users will be redirected to after logging out.
Set Redirection Pages
- Click inside the After Login search box and select a page (e.g., News Feed).
- Click inside the After Logout search box and select a page (e.g., Groups).
- Click Save Settings.
Once saved, users will automatically be redirected to the selected pages upon login and logout.
Using Custom URLs for Redirection
Instead of selecting a predefined page, you can redirect users to a custom URL.
Enable Custom URL Redirection
- In the After Login or After Logout dropdown, select Custom URL.
- Enter the URL where you want users to be redirected.
- Click Save Settings.
Setting Up Redirection for Profile Types
You can configure different redirection rules for each Profile Type on your website.
Edit a Profile Type
- Go to BuddyBoss > Profiles > Profile Types.
- Click Edit on the profile type you want to customize (e.g., Teachers).
Configure Redirection Rules
- Scroll down to the Redirection section.
- Set After Login to a custom page (e.g., Custom URL).
- Set After Logout to another page (e.g., Members Page).
- Click Update (top-right corner) to save changes.
Troubleshooting & FAQs
Q: Users are not being redirected after login/logout.
A: Check if the redirection settings are properly saved under BuddyBoss > Settings > General. Clear your website cache and test in an incognito window.
Q: Custom URLs are not working.
A: Ensure the URL entered is valid and correctly formatted (e.g., https://example.com/custom-page).
Q: Profile type redirection is not applying.
A: Make sure the user is assigned to the correct Profile Type under Users > All Users.
