How to Configure Group Headers in BuddyBoss Platform

Introduction

Customizing Group Headers in BuddyBoss allows you to personalize the appearance of group pages, enhancing the user experience while maintaining brand consistency. You can choose from two different header styles and control the visibility of up to five header elements.

Access Group Header Settings

  1. Navigate to BuddyBoss > Settings > Groups from your Dashboard.
  2. Scroll down to find the Group Headers section.

Choose Header Style

  1. In the Group Headers section, choose from the following:
    • Left Header Style – Displays the group avatar and information aligned to the left.
    • Centered Header Style – Centers the group avatar with selected elements beneath it.
  2. Select Left Header Style to start:
    • Tick all elements to display complete group details.

  1. Click Save Settings to apply the changes.

Test the Setting:

  • Navigate to a Group Page on the frontend.
  • Confirm that the Group Avatar is on the left with the following details:
    • Group Type
    • Last Activity
    • Group Description
    • Group Organizer
    • Group Privacy

Switch Between Header Styles

  1. In Group Headers, toggle between the Left and Centered styles.
  2. Preview the changes by reloading the Group Page.
  3. Adjust the elements to create a consistent and visually appealing layout.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

Q: Why aren’t changes showing up on the frontend?
A: Make sure you click Save Settings before reloading the page. Also, clear your site cache to ensure the latest settings are applied.

Q: Can I add custom elements to the group header?
A: Currently, BuddyBoss supports five predefined elements.

Q: Can I use different header styles for different groups?
A: No, the header style is a global setting applied to all groups. However, you can customize visibility per element to differentiate group layouts.
