How to Enable and Configure Document Uploads in BuddyBoss

Introduction

The Document Upload feature in the BuddyBoss Platform allows members to share files across your community. Documents can be uploaded, organized into folders, and previewed directly on your site, making collaboration easier and boosting engagement.

Document uploads are supported in Activity, Profiles, Groups, Messages, and Forums. This article explains how to enable, configure, and test document uploads in your community.

Enable Document Uploading

1. Navigate to Dashboard > BuddyBoss > Settings.
2. Click on the Media tab.
3. Toggle Enable Document Uploading to ON.
4. Click Save Changes.

Configure Upload Permissions

1. Under Media Settings, locate the User Upload Permissions section.
2. Select which user roles can upload documents (e.g., Members, Moderators, Administrators).
3. Click Save Changes.

Set Document Upload Limits

1. In the Media Settings panel, adjust the Maximum Upload Size to define the maximum file size allowed per document.
2. Specify the Maximum Number of Documents Per Upload to control batch uploads.
3. Click Save Changes.

Enable Folder Organization

1. Scroll to the Documents section in Media Settings.
