Question
January 4, 2016 at 12:53 pm #55506@secondfirstsWe have the Boss theme with the Wall, Media & Global Search plugins. Users can @tag each other in updates etc. and the autocomplete dropdown comes up. The issue we are having though seems to be that the autocomplete is searching all the extended fields of the user profile even though we have most of them unchecked in Global Search settings. It only gets like the first 5 users and since we have extended profile fields with quite a bit of text in some, it doesn’t even return the user with the exact matching username because it isn’t in the first 5 results. Suggestions?

AnonymousHi @secondfirsts
It seems any of your active plugin is creating this issue
Please try to deactivate few your our plugin for a while to debug this issue.Regards
January 5, 2016 at 4:28 pm #55618@secondfirstsI did some more digging, it looks like this issue is with BuddyPress core. It isn’t caused by any plugins. It appears the BuddyPress core provides the @tagging functionality and not Boss theme or Wall. The issue is as I described above, it searches all xprofile fields and not just username. But it only uses the first 5 results and filters those by username.
