Updating from older versions to BuddyBoss 4.0

The primary difference between BuddyBoss 3 series and 4 is that the Wall and Photos components have been completely removed from the theme and converted into separate BuddyBoss Wall and BuddyBoss Media plugins, available for free to all customers who purchased BuddyBoss prior to the 4.0 launch. This also means the main theme is much lighter.

Updating to BuddyBoss 4.0 will require a manual update (re-downloading the theme). Auto-updates are not available to 4.0 as this update requires manual downloads for both plugins (auto-updates after initial install), and we didn’t want people to auto-update and suddenly lose functionality. You will need to back up and delete your current version of BuddyBoss, and then upload the new version.

I think you should be saying ‘backup and delete your current version or Buddyboss’ as overwriting it is not the way to go, the same for the child theme
