    @Michael,

    While solving problem one (child theme related) i’m finding that when clicking on the gallery page http://www.starry-night.nl/gallery/ and clicking “All Albums” no albums are found, although I created one album …

    @mth75 try resetting your Permalinks at Settings > Permalinks, that should fix it.
