I would like to have our site set up similar to the Boss Theme Demo.

When a user is logged out, I would like them to see a blog menu item, members item and so on. How on earth can I show these navigation menu items to logged out users. Where do I edit the navigation menu items I want shown to both logged in and logged out users?

I would like people view profiles while not logged in, but have to log in, in order to do post…just like the Boss demo.

    Thanks in advance

I figured it out and will also use that plugin. It appears that after initial install the boss theme didn’t recognize the fact I had opted to have the buddypanel visible to logged out users. I simply selected ‘Hide’ buddypanel from logged out users…saved it and then went and selected ‘show’ buddypanel to user and saved it…now it works like a charm.

I do have a question @style960 – How could I hide the activity wall from logged out users? I only want members to be able to view peoples wall activity.

    Thanks!

    Possibly this – http://buddydev.com/plugins/bp-profile-visibility-manager/
    Although I haven’t tried it.

I suspect this is very easy to do by applying a check to see if the user is logged in (true or false). If false return a message prompting them to register. I would maybe ask this one on the Buddypress forums – https://buddypress.org/support/
