    Hi,

    I want to add the global dropdown search bar to the home page banner like Vine.co has as well as a video background. How would I do this? What plugins would I need to use?

    You need to do extra customization for Homepage. I will request you to please hire an experienced developer and get this done for you. If you need, where(in which file) to change/customize the code I can tell you.
