    It would be great if you could always auto-assign a member type to a specific user role (e.g. Subscriber) until he/she gets approved. When approved the user will automatically reach another user level (e.g. Editor).

    Example:
    Member type – Student (always auto-assigned as Subscriber).
    Member type – Teacher (initially auto-assigned as Subscriber until approved, when approved he/she will be upgraded to Course Author).

    Hi @mln83,
    By default when you are not linking them with user role member will get subscriber role , it will not impact which member type they have selected.
    You can upgrade their user role as per your requirement.

    It could be an optional feature for the Social Learner where we can add an intermediate step for instructor role approval.
