Downloads on Global Search

Hi there;

I’m using global BuddyBoss Global Search with Boss, but i realized that downloads available on our site are not covered by the search. I use “Download Monitor” plugin and downloads have their own taxonomy and post type.

How can i include this content on global search?

Any word on this? I’ve been seen that Global Search doesn’t get all the post types so Boss search lacks some content from my site.

How can i make Global Search be Global?

Hi @nexxera, Please Let me know you are just using the free version of Download Monitor plugin or any paid add-on so I could check it.

@pallavi, i use Download Monitor that is free and only the Page Addon (https://www.download-monitor.com/extensions/page-addon/). This addon just add a page with a list of all downloads.

Download Monitor has its own post types and taxonomy as follow:

post_type=dlm_download
taxonomy=dlm_download_category
taxonomy=dlm_download_tag

But i think that an elegant solution is that Global Search was able to read, list and search in all the post types that the diferent plugins use.

I use also the DW Knowledge Base plugin that has custom post type and taxonomy and Global Search are able to search on it’s content. Knowledge base show as “articles” on search.

I had tested Download Manager and post type attached to it is post_type=wpdmpro
https://wordpress.org/plugins/download-manager/
It seems it’s not working with Download Monitor
Might be they created post type with some different approach to lock down the downloads for security.

@vapvarun, i’ve found that the custom post type have been created with the flag “exclude_from_search = true” and “publicly_queryable = false” so Global Search was unable to list then. Changing this variables made Global Search work as expected with this custom post types.

Just though you might know.
