BuddyPress Group Notifications/Announcements

Hey everyone!

I’ve been searching for days for a solution to this. I either need some way to create announcements for groups, or a way to just make the group activity stream show announcements from admins. There must be a way to contact all the members of a group. I’m surprised it hasn’t been built in by now.

Any help would be sooo appreciated. Like I said, I’ve exhausted my options. This is the best thing I’ve found: http://commonsinabox.org/documentation/plugins/bp-group-announcements

It basically creates an announcement tab, but the forum in the group still caused the activity stream to show new topics and replies and what not, which gets super cluttered.
