    Is it possible to assign users to a category, or perhaps a tag? I don’t want to use the Groups feature (I don’t think) for this. I want users to be able to say “assign this category/tag and that one and that one to my profile”. I want the categories/tags to each have their own color associated with it. So then a user could search for members by selecting tags to search on.

    Kind of like groups but I want to leave the groups function for more interactive groups rather than just assigning a member type to a member…

    Hope that makes sense…

    @klubhouse Welcome to the BuddyBoss community! I think you want to add xprofile fields to users, then use the BP Profile Search plugin to find users based on those new fields. You would need to make these “categories” (profile fields) required for users to signup on your site. All of this is native to BuddyPress so if you do need help I’m sure you can search the BuddyPress.org forums for how to do this in more detail.
