  1. Hello!

In your BuddyPress for Sensei setup video, you explain how to connect a course to a group, but you don’t explain how to set up a group. How do I set up a group so I can then connect it to a course?

    Sincerely,
    Keith

    1. Keith,
First, you need to make sure you have the group component of BuddyPress installed. Then you can access the group section in your WordPress Dashboard or you can create a group on the front-end. That’s it!

  2. Great plugin. Seriously looking at your theme too.

Question about just using this plugin though: What happens if the course is *only* available to be purchased through Woocommerce? My assumption is that one wouldn’t have access until purchased, but does the Group still allow joining and some level of access? (I’d prefer zero access overall).

    Thanks…

    1. Steve, you can set your groups privacy via admin. You can make them private, public, restricted, etc. Only admins can create groups etc. These are all options you can set via BuddyPress. I hope this is the answer you were looking for.

      1. Thanks for the reply. We’ve done that of course.

One last question: I read on a forum somewhere that a Sensei course could *only* be set for a single BP group. So I’m wondering what people do when they have multiple groups, each with their own set of people, all of whom are taking the same course?

Would hate to have to create multiples of the same course or lessons, but I’m wrestling with the permissions issue of having a course set only for a single BP group.

  3. It’s my understanding that, once a Sensei course is “attached” to a Buddypress Group, that’s the only Group it can be in. So what happens when there are multiple Groups, all taking the same Sensei course?

I ask this because my client has three “classes” each year and each one will be a Group in Buddypress. Each class will be taking taking courses and their lessons, connecting with their fellow students in their Group, and actively using the in-group Forum. As such, my client doesn’t want ALL three classes to be in the same Group since it would be a bit of a mess.

    Thoughts?

  4. Can i set this plug-in so that access to the forum is only given if the person completes the course it is tied to?

  5. will this allow us to associate more than one course with the same group? For example, I have set up the group “Apples.” My courses are “Granny Smith,” “Jonathan” and “Fuji.” Can these courses all be linked to the “Apples” group?
