How to Enable the Rate This App Menu in the BuddyBoss App

Encouraging your members to rate and review your mobile app boosts discoverability and credibility in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. This tutorial shows you how to add a Rate This App menu item in your BuddyBoss App, so users can tap directly to leave a rating once your app is live.

Publishing Prerequisite

Before enabling this feature, ensure your app is approved and published in both app stores. The Rate This App menu links to your live store listings and will not function on unpublished builds.

Retrieving Your App Store IDs

Retrieving Your Apple App ID

  1. Open your app’s public listing in the App Store (e.g., https://apps.apple.com/app/idXXXXXXXXX).
  2. Copy the numeric App ID portion after id (e.g., XXXXXXXXX).

Retrieving Your Android Application ID

  1. Open your app’s listing in the Google Play Store (e.g., https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.example.app).
  2. Copy the Application ID portion after id= (e.g., com.example.app).

Entering Your Store IDs in the BuddyBoss App Plugin

Entering Your Apple App ID

  1. In WordPress, go to BuddyBoss App > Configure > iOS Settings.
  2. Scroll to App Information > Apple App ID.
  3. Paste your Apple App ID and click Save Changes.

Entering Your Android Application ID

  1. Go to BuddyBoss App > Configure > Android Settings.
  2. Scroll to App Information > Application ID.
  3. Paste your Android Application ID and click Save Changes.

Enabling the Rate This App Menu

  1. Navigate to BuddyBoss App > Settings > Feedback.
  2. Scroll to Rate This App.
  3. Check Enable Rate This App for iOS and/or Android.
  4. Click Save Changes.

Testing the Rate This App Menu

  1. Force-quit and reopen your mobile app.
  2. Tap More > Settings > Rate This App.
  3. Confirm the link opens your app’s listing in the App Store or Play Store.

Troubleshooting and FAQs

Q: The “Rate This App” menu is missing.
A: Ensure it’s enabled and saved in Feedback settings, then restart the app.

Q: It links to the wrong app.
A: Double-check your pasted App ID/Application ID—no extra spaces or typos.

Q: I don’t see the review prompt in the store.
A: Scroll to the “Rate This App” or “Reviews” section in the store listing.

Q: Can I change the menu label?
