Wall Posts – syntax

Hi guys –

I’m getting weird syntax on activity feed items, like “wrote on Wall” rather than the old “Jane wrote on Bill’s Wall” and “mentioned in a public message” without names. See attached images.

I’ve noticed some updates to BuddyBoss Wall, but I’m not sure if this issue is related to the BB Wall or BuddyBoss 4.x. In either case, is this in the pipeline to be corrected?

@jgwolfensberger this is a known issue being corrected. Simply roll back to previous version for now. Should be located in your My Account page.

Hi @tjchester – I rolled back BuddyBoss Wall to 1.1.3 but no change. So is this BB 4x that I’m to roll back?

@jgwolfensberger I just started to notice but sometimes I skip an iteration or two of updates. Try one more back. To clarify you should be rolling back the wall. There as a small chance this will not update the posts with the error depending where the error is located.

Thanks @tjchester – Wall 1.1.2 cleared it up.

1. So we shouldn’t expect any other issues as a result of going back that many versions?

2. When the next version of Wall comes out, can I expect the “Details” notes to indicate if the “wrote on wall” syntax issue is corrected – so that I don’t update unless I should?

@jgwolfensberger with 99% certainty this issue should be resolved, it’s a major bug so I’d be VERY surprised if it weren’t fixed. Not sure exactly what will be noted since I’m not sure which file but something will be in the changelog/Release Notes.

Since the latest Buddypress updates the problem has changed now when someone writes on another members wall the syntax says:

(Member Name) posted an update * hours, * minutes ago

That shows in the Activity feed and on posting members wall but on the actual members wall they wrote on nothing appears, like it never occurred.

@raytronx looks like they are changing some naming of actions in the db. We will look into this again.
