Introduction
Maintenance Mode lets you pause your mobile community while performing updates or migrations—preventing new activity, purchases, or data submissions until you’re ready. Users see a branded “we’ll be back” screen, matching your app’s colors and logo, so your community knows you’re working behind the scenes.

Enabling Maintenance Mode
Go to BuddyBoss App > Configure > General, then locate the Maintenance Mode section.
- Check Enable Maintenance Mode.
- Click Save Changes.
Note: This setting only blocks the app. To restrict web traffic too, enable Maintenance Mode under BuddyBoss > Theme Options > Maintenance Mode.
What Your Users See
When Maintenance Mode is active, opening the app shows:
- App Logo: Pulled from BuddyBoss App > Branding > Logon Screen > Logo
- Background Color: Matches your Branding > General Background Color
- Message: “Maintenance Mode is enabled. Please try again later.” (Translatable under BuddyBoss App > Translations)
As soon as you uncheck Enable Maintenance Mode and users reopen the app, full access returns automatically.
Troubleshooting & FAQs
Q: My web site is still live during app maintenance.
A: App Maintenance Mode only affects the mobile app. To suspend website access, enable Theme Maintenance Mode under BuddyBoss > Theme Options > Maintenance Mode.
Q: How do I change the maintenance message?
A: Go to BuddyBoss App > Translations, search for “Maintenance Mode,” and update the text.
Q: Users still see cached content.
A: Ask them to force-close and reopen the app to fetch the maintenance screen immediately.
