How to Generate and Connect Your Apple Developer API Key

Introduction

Integrating your Apple Developer API Key into the BuddyBoss App plugin enables seamless communication with App Store Connect powering automated publishing, certificate management, and more. This guide will walk you through generating an API Key in App Store Connect and connecting it in your BuddyBoss App’s iOS settings, so you can unlock full automation without leaving WordPress.

Generating Your API Key in App Store Connect

  1. Sign in to App Store Connect with your Apple ID.
  2. Navigate to Users and Access.
  1. Select the Integrations tab.
  2. Click the + button next to Active.
  3. Enter a Name (for your reference).
  4. Choose Admin from the Access dropdown.
    • Admin grants full permissions for all plugin features.
    • App Manager works too but may require extra manual steps for publishing.
  5. Click Generate.
  6. Click Download API Key next to your new key.
    • You can download this only once. Store it securely.
  7. Copy your Issuer ID and the key’s Key ID for later use.

Connecting Your API Key in BuddyBoss App

  1. In WordPress Admin, go to BuddyBoss App > Configure > iOS Settings.
  2. Scroll to the Connect Your Apple Developer Account section.
  3. Upload the .p8 API Key file you downloaded.
  4. Paste your Issuer ID.
  5. Paste your Key ID.
  6. Click Connect Account.

Note: To switch keys or accounts later, use Disconnect Account first.

Your BuddyBoss App plugin is now linked to your Apple Developer account. You can proceed with creating your iOS app record and finishing configuration.
