Why is there a popup dialog to add photos to the activity stream when those photos are automatically loaded on the activity stream anyways? See screenshot.

It seems completely redundant and bad UX design.

Can we get rid of the dialog?

@acroyes we had to add the lightbox window to allow a drop anywhere area for photos. We must duplicate all forms to the post form if users abandon the lightbox. So we could add a feature to only show them on exit. Look for that within the next couple weeks.

@tjchester Any update on this yet? I’m hoping to get rid of the lightbox step and just have users drag and drop pictures into the “What’s new?” textarea.

@skyrie dragging and dropping on the textarea is not possible with the current BuddyPress form. We would need to hijack that which is not compatible with many plugins including BP Activity Plus, a widely used plugin, not to mention many more. Our solution was to go directly to an default windows upload box.
