I will eventually get Social Learner, but I was just wandering a couple things both of which are related to its Badgeos integration:

1) If a user is awarded an achievement/badge is a notification sent to the notification(s) area of the users profile?

2) Is there any sort of leaderboard (widget or functionality) with Social Learner to display a list of users with most points?

I am pretty knowledgable on those plugins. I have been using the community and leaderboard add-ons for almost a year. I guess what I am getting at is what does the social learner add-on provide integration wise for a boss theme running buddypress and badgeos. It would be nice if it had the feature of sending notification to users when an achievement is earned. What features does social learner offer badgeos wise?

Hi Ryan,

There are no “new functionalities” built into Social Learner, for BadgeOs.
If we do this, it would be on a separate plugin.
Since there was already a plugin that linked BadgeOs with BuddyPress, we didn’t have to re-create that.

Social Learner integrates BadgeOs by styling how BadgeOs pages are displayed, and more importantly, how badges and points display on the profile. The purpose for Social Learner was to create a solution by tying all these things together into a beautiful interface.

I will take note of your suggestion and will consider it for possible future add-ons.

@tomchedd I understand now. I do like those detailed UI touches within the profile, I was just hoping for a little functionality as well. A notification being sent to each user as they earn achievements would be great, because the badgeos congratulations modal plugin is a little weak. I love badgeos, my site revolves around it, but the congratulation modal is dull and responsively poor.

I know that Social Learner is also offered through addons for Boss owners. I own Boss and was wandering if I did purchase the addons would my basic site layout change at all or would I keep the Boss theme and gain a few functionalities from the addons that integrate well with Sensei and badgeos? In other words, stuff like the location of the search bar is different in Boss and Social Learner. Would the new addons change those things on my site?

Hey @ryanmaler, it is your choice to your social leaner layout or Boss layout, Boss. for Sensei plugin will provide template files for the Sensei. Social leaner is a child theme which override some section of the Boss theme, you can easily check the child theme files to understand what additional had been added to the Social Leaner.

Search plugin is same only some additional css is added , you can remove it easily.
