Notifications – Unuser Friendly

Please, please, please help.

Is there a way that the notifications can be automatically cleared after you see the little drop down on the notification bubble? It seems really silly to see a notification there and then have to manually read/delete them. The notification page is unnecessary.

Thanks @leonardoarias the developer is working on this. It currently does not work the way it should.

This seems to be a big problem as notifications are piling up and user has to manually read/delete them. The plugin http://buddydev.com/plugins/buddypress-clear-notifications/ seems to be a good solution. The plugin is working fine in Twenty Fourteen theme. There seems to be some issue with the boss theme. The plugin is using ‘admin_bar_menu’ hook to add the “Clear Notification” option in the menu. I think after some time, some other boss function is also hooking onto ‘admin_bar_menu’ and removing that options (maybe add_action( ‘admin_bar_menu’, ‘buddyboss_strip_unnecessary_admin_bar_nodes’, 999 ).

@tjchester .. can you have a look at this as this plugin is functional in other basic themes. Thanks!

@akhilvij this bug is currently in analysis, since this is a single plugin conflict it is not a high priority but as you can it is currently being worked on.

@tjchester its really frustrating that you support team has not been been able to help on this matter. its close to 2 months, and there is still no update. As confirmed earlier, we have tested this plugin with certain other themes too, but only the boss theme is having a conflict with ‘Clear Notifications’ plugin. clearly, this is a theme conflict, which i have explained in detail my previous comment too. Please take this on high priority, and update us asap… also there is no pagination for the notifications too (scr attached) !

@akhilvij @rugwarrior I’m not certain when this was fixed within the theme but without the plugin mentioned previously when you click on the notification in the notification popup menu they are cleared. I’m not sure if this was a BuddyPress fix and the plugin is causing the conflict now but I have no issues that I can replicate. Could you create a screencast of the issue? Also please try disabling the plugin to check if the issue has been resolved through native BuddyPress.
