Messaging paragraph breaks

Is it possible to make it so that when I send a message, the paragraph breaks remain?

Any time I hit a hard enter after a line in my message to create a new paragraph, the space gets truncated once the message is sent.

I have attached a screenshot so you can see what I meant.
