    Hi,

Somethings changed and for all new groups I’m creating. The Group image, info and admin (see attached), no longer appears on the sidebar for any Group pages including inside Forums.

For the one group created ages ago, its still showing up

But for all other groups its blank. Its now a dead space.

    How do I fix this?

It seems to disappear whenever there’s a group that is associated with a Course. It remains displayed when there is a course linked.

Hi @stratabilityio, Just because your first group ‘stratability-london-meetup’ is public group that’s why it showing the details of the group but as your second group ‘design-thinking’ is private group thus it is not showing the group info.

And if you link any group to courses so by default it will set to private group.

Hi, I’m having the same problem. I have a group and the group image, info and admins are shown in the sidebar (whether the group is private or not).

When a course is linked to the group this information disappears and the sidebar is empty.

    Pallavi,

That doesn’t answer my question. I understand why it doesn’t show up when its marked private, but when the member of the group including the admin is logged in, it still doesn’t show up so that is a problem. I’d like it to show up to members and admin are loggedin. Thanks

@stratabilityio I agree with you. It doesn’t seem @pallavi fully understands your question. I believe I am experiencing the same issue as you, where the group avatar and group info isn’t showing up, as you showed in the image you submitted. This isn’t the only issue I am having, but it seems to be an issue that isn’t some what fixed by deactivating the Boss-Sensei plugin, as most of the issues I am experiencing are associated with that plugin.

@stratabilityio @andrew-clarke @pallavi I believe I zeroed in on the culprit for this issue. In the social-learner theme folder there is a template file named sidebar-buddypress.php. It seems it has been coded to let groups connected to courses to use the group dynamic sidebar found in widgets instead of the default single group markup. So, I replaced the code found on line 45 with the markup and code from line 47 thru line 85. In doing so, my groups connected to courses now have their group avatar and info.
