Global Search – Hidden Groups

I noticed that hidden groups to not come up in the search drop-down results, even when the logged in user is an admin of the hidden group. I also noticed on the search results PAGE, that the counter in the Groups tab counts hidden groups, but does not display them in the list, even if the logged in user is a member of the group.

Hidden and Private groups are core elements to our site and the ability to search for them is important to our users as many users will have many hidden and/or private groups.

I have a similar issue with activity on walls, in reports, etc. Any ideas here?
