    Hi,
    i want to deactivate the activity stream as I find it a bit distracting.
    If I deactivate the activity stream, the entire BuddyPress menu vanishes.
    Any idea why?

    Hi @mo_mel, Activity stream is required for Social Learner
    seems proper admin notice is missing for it, we will include it in our next version.
    Both the Social Learner post activities on each action made by students and teachers and even bp group feature can not be utilized without activity.
