    Hi does anyone know how to add items to the user log in icon on the top right?

    It appears on my admin log in but the student doesnt see it

    Hi @concisecourses
    Please check you all plugins , any of them is disabling the wp admin bar for other user roles
    We are using wp admin bar to generate those menus

    should a ‘normal’ student see anything in that dropdown or is it only for admin?

    they will have their own option, not admin options
    Drop drop is available for all

    yes, it should be due to plugin
    Few plugin hide wp admin bar , you will need to check them by deactivating one by one
