Introduction
When users upload images, documents, or videos through your BuddyBoss-powered site—whether via profiles, groups, courses, or activity feeds—those files are saved on your server’s filesystem. They do not live in the database, and they follow WordPress’s standard upload conventions with custom subfolders for BuddyBoss content.
Upload Paths
By default, BuddyBoss creates dedicated folders under your WordPress uploads directory:
User Media (images, avatars, cover photos):
yourwebsite.com/wp-content/uploads/bb_medias/
Documents (PDFs, docs, etc.):
yourwebsite.com/wp-content/uploads/bb_documents/
Videos (MP4, WebM, MOV, etc.):
yourwebsite.com/wp-content/uploads/bb_videos/
Troubleshooting & FAQs
Q: I don’t see my users’ files in Media → Library—why?
A: Files uploaded via BuddyBoss components are stored in the above custom folders and aren’t automatically listed in the core Media Library. You can register those folders with a media management plugin if you need to browse them in the WP dashboard.
