Introduction
The Email Invites feature in BuddyBoss allows community members to send invitations to non-members, encouraging them to join the network. This feature can help grow your community, expand membership, or create a private, invite-only network.

Activating the Email Invites Component
Enable Email Invites
- Go to your WordPress dashboard.
- Navigate to BuddyBoss > Components.
- Locate the Email Invites component and enable it.
Configure Email Invites Settings
- Go to BuddyBoss > Settings > Invites.
- You will see options for configuring Email Subject and Email Content. Enable it.
- Click Save Settings to apply your changes.
Sending Email Invites
Access the Invite Feature:
- Go to your profile on the frontend of your BuddyBoss community.
- Navigate to Email Invites > Send Invites.
Enter Invite Details
- Add the name and email of the person you want to invite.
Send the Invitation
- Click Send Invites to send the email invitations.
- The invited person will receive an email with a link to join the network.
- Clicking the link allows them to register and join your community.
Managing Invites as an Admin
View Sent Invites
- Go to BuddyBoss > Invites in the backend.
- You will see a list of all sent invites, including:
- Sender’s name
- Recipient’s email
- Date of the invitation
- Status of the invite (Pending, Accepted, or Revoked)
Manage Invitation Status
- Click Revoke to cancel an invitation. The invite link will no longer be valid.
- If the invitee registers using the link, the status will automatically update to Accepted.
- Both the sender and the admin can revoke invitations.
Customizing Email Invites
Allow Members to Customize Email Content
- Go to BuddyBoss > Settings > Invites.
- Enable Allow members to customize the subject and Allow members to customize the content if you want users to personalize their invitation messages.
- If these options are disabled, users can only send the default invite message.
- Click Save Settings to confirm your choices.
Using Email Invites with Profile Types
Enable Profile Types for Invites
- Go to BuddyBoss > Settings > Invites.
- Enable Allow members to select profile type of invitee.
- Click Save Settings.
Restrict Invites by Profile Type
- Go to BuddyBoss > Settings > Invites.
- Enable Only allow the selected profile types to send invites.
- Select the specific profile types that can send invites (e.g., Teachers but not Students).
- Click Save Settings.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Q: Why don’t I see the option to send invites?
A: Ensure the Email Invites component is enabled in BuddyBoss > Components and check that the settings are configured in BuddyBoss > Settings > Invites.
Q: Can invited users still register if registration is turned off?
A: Yes, invited users can register using their unique invite link even if open registration is disabled.
Q: How do I customize the email subject and content?
A: Enable the options under BuddyBoss > Settings > Invites to allow users to personalize the subject and content of the invitation email.
Q: Can I restrict who sends invites?
