Introduction
iOS requires App Store icons to be fully opaque and free of any alpha channels or transparency. If your build fails with “Invalid App Store Icon. The App Store Icon in the asset catalog in ‘Platform.app’ can’t be transparent nor contain an alpha channel.”, you won’t be able to deliver your .ipa via Transporter. This article explains why this happens and how to correct your App Store icon in the BuddyBoss App backend before generating a new build.
Prepare an Opaque App Store Icon
- Open your icon file in your preferred image editor (e.g., Photoshop, Affinity Photo).
- Remove any transparency or alpha channel so the background is solid.
Update the App Icon in Your BuddyBoss App Backend
- Log in to your BuddyBoss App backend.
- Navigate to Branding > Images > App Icon.
- Click Replace, select your new PNG file, and upload it.
- Click Save Changes to apply the update.
- Generate and upload a new Build.
