How To Download the .AAB Files for the App

Introduction

The BuddyBoss App now supports downloading .AAB files, which are required by Google from August 2021 for new releases. By following these steps, you’ll learn how to create a new release build and download the .AAB file from your WordPress admin. This file is essential for uploading your app to the Google Play Store, although if your app was previously published, you may still use APK files for release builds.

Request a New Build

1. Log into your WordPress admin.
2. Navigate to BuddyBoss App > Build.
3. Click on Request Build.
4. Select Android as the Platform and choose Release App as the Build Type.
5. Click Next Step, then click Send Build Request.

Download the .AAB File

1. Once the build completes, go to Build History.
2. Click the download button on the completed release build to download the .AAB file.
3. Save the file in a secure location; you will use it in the next steps for app publication.
   

Additional Information

1. From August 2021, Google requires you to upload an .AAB file for new submissions.
2. If you have previously published your app, you may still upload the APK files for your ‘release’ builds.
