How to Configure Your BuddyBoss App Tab Bar and More Screen

Opening the Menus Settings

1. In WordPress, go to BuddyBoss App > Menus.
   
2. Confirm you’re viewing the Tab Bar Menu tab.
   
3. Switch to the More Screen Menu tab to configure secondary items.
   

Clearing and Rebuilding Your Navigation

1. Under Tab Bar Menu, click Remove on each existing item until the list is empty.
   
2. Switch to More Screen Menu and remove all items there as well.
   

Adding Core App Screens

1. In Core App, click Add to Menu for Settings (this must appear somewhere).
   
2. Click Add to Menu for Courses, then drag Home from App Pages and position it first.
   
3. Click Add to Menu for Me (from Logged In Member) to provide profile access.
   
4. Click Save Menu.
   

Organizing the More Screen

1. Switch to More Screen Menu.
   
2. Click Add to Menu for Members, Activity, Groups, and Forums.
   
3. Click Save Menu.
   

Creating Menu Sections

1. In More Screen Menu, click Add Section, name it App Settings, and indent Settings under it.
   
2. Click Add Section, name it Community, and indent community items (Members, Activity, Groups, Forums) under it.
   
3. Click Save Menu.
   

Customizing Menu Icons and Text

1. In the Tab Bar Menu, click the dropdown arrow beside each item and choose Select Item Icon.
   
2. Pick from the BuddyBoss Icon Pack or Legacy icons.
   
3. Adjust Icon Color to match your brand, then click Select Icon.
   
4. Click Save Menu and repeat for More Screen Menu.
   

Adjusting Default Icon Colors

1. Navigate to BuddyBoss App > Branding > Colors > Tab Bar & More.
   
2. Set Icon Default Color and Icon Active Color (for selected Tab Bar items).
   
3. Click Save Changes.
   

Previewing and Deploying

1. Force-close the BuddyBoss App on your device.

Troubleshooting and FAQs

Q: Menu changes don’t appear in the app.
A: Force-close and reopen the BuddyBoss App to clear its cache and load updated menus.

Q: I can’t add more than four items to the Tab Bar.
A: The Tab Bar supports only four items plus the More tab, any additional items must go into the More Screen.

Q: Legacy icons don’t show in the picker.
A: Clear your browser cache, update the BuddyBoss App plugin, then reload Menus > Tab Bar to access the Legacy pack.
