Introduction
Group Navigation in BuddyBoss allows you to organize the navigation tabs within social groups to fit your community’s needs.
Access Group Navigation Settings
To start customizing the group navigation:
- Navigate to BuddyBoss > Groups > Group Navigation from your Dashboard.
Display Vertical Navigation
BuddyBoss allows you to choose between Horizontal and Vertical navigation styles.
- In the Group Navigation section, tick the box to Display Group Navigation Vertically.
- Click Publish to save the changes.
Set Default Navigation Tab
You can set a default tab that users will see first when they enter a group.
- In Group Navigation, find the Default Navigation Order section.
- Select the tab you want to set as the default option.
- Click Publish to save the setting.
Reorder Navigation Tabs
BuddyBoss offers a drag-and-drop interface to easily rearrange the order of group navigation tabs.
- In Group Navigation, locate the list of available navigation tabs, such as:
- Discussions
- Photos
- Videos
- Members
- About
- Click and drag the navigation tabs to reorder them as desired.

- Drop the tabs into the preferred order.
- Click Publish to save the new navigation order.
Troubleshooting & FAQs
Q: Why aren’t the navigation changes showing up on the frontend?
A: Ensure that you clicked Publish before reloading the page. Also, clear your site cache to ensure the latest settings are applied.
Q: Can I customize navigation differently for each group?
A: No, navigation settings are global across all groups.
Q: Why can’t I see the option to display vertical navigation?
A: Ensure that you’re using the latest version of the BuddyBoss Platform.
