Introduction
Out of the box, BuddyBoss does not remove members from groups when their subscription fails or they’re banned. By combining Keap Automation, Memberium, and Uncanny Automator, you can tag users on purchase or failure and have them added or removed from the corresponding group automatically.
Integration Workflow
Keap “Forum Join” Tag on Purchase
When a user purchases a subscription, Keap applies a Forum join tag to their account.
Memberium Adds User to the Group
Memberium detects the Forum join tag, assigns the corresponding WordPress role, and BuddyBoss adds the user to the appropriate group/forum.
Keap “Forum Leave” Tag on Failure or Ban
If a payment fails or the user is banned, Keap applies a Forum leave tag to their account.
Memberium Changes User Role
Memberium maps the Forum leave tag to a WordPress role that does not grant group access.
Uncanny Automator Removes from Group
Uncanny Automator watches for that role change and automatically removes the user from the specified BuddyBoss group/forum.
Reactivation on Successful Renewal
If a failed payment is later retried successfully, Keap removes the Forum leave tag and reapplies the Forum join tag—Memberium and Automator then restore the user’s role and group membership.
