Introduction

“Digital Asset Links Not Accessible
Google needs access to the following URL in order to read the digital asset links for your Android app:
https://app.domainsample.uk/.well-known/assetlinks.json
To ensure Android App Links work as intended, please contact your host to enable access to this URL.”
This indicates that Google cannot retrieve your assetlinks.json file. Follow the steps below to enable access and resolve the error.
Contact Your Hosting Provider
- Reach out to your hosting provider or server administrator.
- Ask them to enable public HTTP GET access to /.well-known/assetlinks.json.
- Confirm there are no authentication, firewall, or rewrite rules blocking that path.
Obtain the JSON Snippet
- Log in to Google Play Console and select your app.
- Navigate to Test and Release > Setup > App Signing.
- Under Digital Asset Links, copy the provided JSON snippet.
Generate and Upload a New Build
- After confirming assetlinks.json is accessible, rebuild your Android release (APK or AAB).
- In Google Play Console, go to your Production track and upload the new build.
- Click Save to finalize the release.
