Forever Families is a nonprofit organization that travels around the world to lead global conferences and provide resources that focus on strengthening marriages, parenting and families.

Challenges

Challenge #1 – They never built a Community Membership Website before and wanter to grow their Company Mission


Forever Families wanted to build a community membership website to grow their audience by connecting other couples, and members together. They looked at different options and were not happy with other WordPress themes and third-party software in the marketplace, because they couldn’t find anything that was scalable enough to fit their needs as an enterprise-level solution and they wanted something that was easy to manage.

Challenge #2 They need to provide Multiple Features for their members.


Forever Families was looking for a one-stop, feature-rich platform. They needed a way to deliver their content to members while also connecting to other users’ content easily.

They needed a solution that could do different things such as, connect registered members to different group types, they didn’t know how to integrate SamCart with WordPress as part of their registration and check-out process, so they could offer courses, quizzes and instructor-led content.

They found other systems but the UI didn’t look nice, was poorly designed, not user friendly, disjointed or the customizations were too cost prohibitive and not compatible with their existing third-party tools.

Challenge #3 – Jeff Wanted A Platform That Was Versatile Enough To Help Them Manage Their Own Internal Business Workflows


When Jeff was looking at different options, he wanted to find a solution that had the flexibility to use for their internal business workflows, like helping them manage staff content or manage business content within their organization too. The other themes he found were too limiting or did not have the ability to use it in this way.

Challenge #4 They were frustrated with lack of pre-sales support ot lack of communication


Forever Families previously had poor experiences reaching out to other companies to get pre-sales help or support. Jeff found most of the companies he reached out to were either not responsive or they seemed to lack the technical know-how to help him come up with a viable solution. His prior experience working with other project processes would result in bottlenecks, missed deadlines or they over-promised and under delivered.

As they began to share what their ideas were with the BuddyBoss Platform, we were all in. And man, I can tell you, we have not looked back!

Solutions

Leveraging the BuddyBoss as the Foundation for a Course Platform


BuddyBoss’s Theme with our LearnDash solution was the perfect foundation for Forever Families membership community website. It allowed them to have complete control to host on their community server autonomously and without expensive proprietary dependencies.

Our BuddyBoss Platform and open source architecture is designed to be fully customizable and scalable on an enterprise level. It gives Forever Families a holistic way to not only deliver their content to grow their audience, but it connects other users’ content in an intuitive interface that’s easily managed by their admins.

Our product also integrated nicely with LearnDash so that admins were able to set up courses, quizzes and assignments for their members via lessons and provide their students feedback from instructors quickly and seamlessly.

SamCart Customizations

By integrating SamCart and Wordpress into one sign-up form and checkout solution we streamlined their registration process so that ‘HIM’ and ‘HER’ users were able to input their info separately but register as one ‘couple’ entity. Jeff didn’t want couple users to have to create two separate ‘registered’ accounts based on ‘HIS’ and ‘HER’ details entered in the sign-up process.

Previously, there was a problem with SamCart, because when one of the couples tried to purchase a course from SamCart then the course was accessible to only one user instead of both.

Our customizations allowed either ‘HIM’ or ‘HER’ as a couple to share one account to login, using the same email ID and password and this way both users could now access their course content as a ‘couple’.

We created custom member group types

We also set up and configured user groups so that depending on whatever member type is selected upon registration, the site will auto-register them to a group for those member types.

The feature allows member types to interact with others with the same member type. Users can create their own groups and invite other site members into those groups. Alternatively, users can direct message other users, even if they are not in the same group.

Now, within groups, users can ask questions in a News Feed-style discussion area, interact with each other, and also message one another to increase engagement and foster community.

Our development team also helped Forever Families create a customized frontend UI with a form that allows lessons to be associated with blogs with video links, so that when a form is submitted by a user, it’s easily approved by one of their Admins without a lot of steps in-between.

Business Management

Jeff now has the ability to utilize our product for other opportunities in his business. They can apply their BuddyBoss Theme to other new product launches and they find this tool is a great way to improve the way their staff centralizes different types of business documentation and content they create for their own teams.

Jeff noted the entire process from the very beginning of the Sales process went very smoothly; we were able to his concerns, and also helped him think through his strategy.

Our Project Management team provided a flexible Agile structure so the complexity of the project was broken down into manageable steps, that were clear and concise. Jeff and his team were always involved in the feedback process which allowed the project team to respond quickly to changes, and prioritize iterations.

Our project team was able to deliver “beyond their expectations” and within budget.

We Rebrand their new community design to match their existing Website


We implemented our BuddyBoss cost-effective frontend rebranding process.

In order to meet Jeff’s budget we proposed instead of coming up with all new designs which would have been a more costly, time consuming approach, the BuddyBoss Frontend team took the client’s existing style guide and integrated specific, agreed design elements, such as font, colors, logo, CSS, and html modifications to match the new community website.
