this thing can go way beyond the need to show a single type… it can be used instead of custom fields, which are not by default really useful inside BP.

here are some features i’d like to see from a paid script, compared to the free version released by iMath…

1- parent/categories of Types, for this usage:

    Teacher
    — math
    — english
    — general

    Student
    — K12
    — High School
    — College

2- Private Types, for administration usage, generally… so the users can’t select them, but admins can. for now they are all shown in the users profile to edit.

3- Searchable or not. so we can use the Types search in BP GLobal Search.

4- a regex function so we can use Member Types with Subscriptions/Memberships plugins… no need to deal with the transaction, we can handle it. *(so we can hide content for non-members of specific type, etc)

5- there are slugs to edit in the language file… not good… put them as variables maybe, but slugs have no place in language files.

6- custom css. so we can apply a specific font style to the user username or member type shown on his profile page. ok, it’s a gadget, but people requires it sometimes.

7- show member type below username in BP forums etc, not only the user profile page. checkbox each possible location. *(discussions, activity, notifications, etc) so the user can see a notification coming from an admin or a regular user, etc

8- multiple type selection… ok, this goes far, but we could have more than one type for a single user, like Teacher AND Admin …
