BuddyBoss 2.0 is finally available!
Sep 27, 2011 at 9:25 pm in BuddyBoss Theme, BuddyPress, News by Michael Eisenwasser (Admin) ·
BuddyBoss 2.0 is available as of today. We apologize about the long wait - it took us some time to finish up all of the features as we wanted to make sure we were releasing a polished product. BuddyBoss 2.0 is by far the most significant update to BuddyBoss yet. It’s a complete code rewrite. We’ve listened to our customers and included all of the highly requested features, as well as full compatibility with BuddyPress 1.5 and bbPress. We’re really excited about this release and we hope you love it!
How to update:
Go ahead and download the update and follow our updated Install Instructions. As usual it is a free upgrade for existing customers. If you are upgrading from a previous version of the theme, please make sure to follow our upgrade guide.
Here’s an overview of the new features in BuddyBoss 2.0:
- Full compatibility with BuddyPress 1.5
- Complete code rewrite – faster, cleaner, better documented, more stable
- Much improved “Facebook” Wall
- Photo uploading to the Wall, with user photo galleries
- “Likes” on Wall posts
- The return of @mentions. They now work in the wall.
- Widgets galore! Optional widgetized sidebars on all BuddyPress components, including profiles and groups
- All BuddyPress components are registered as WordPress pages and can be reordered within the admin
- Full support for bbPress 2.0 and standalone forums
- Improved commenting
- Improved support for IE7
- Improved image uploader for site logo
- Added editor styles

I haven’t received my update e-mail
Michael Eisenwasser (Admin) said on September 28, 2011
Find your original receipt from when you purchased the theme. The link in that email will work to download the update. If you didn’t save that email, send us an email and we’ll email it to you. We have a record of all the purchase links.

I need to send an email to you for a new download link, but I’m not sure what address to send it too?
Michael Eisenwasser (Admin) said on September 29, 2011
Send it to support@buddyboss.com. Make sure to include the name / email you used in your original purchase.

Thank you for the release. I downloaded the updated theme.
I found two folders called “buddyboss” and “__MACOSX” in buddyboss folder.
Do I need to upload/rewrite all folders or just “buddyboss” folder in buddyboss folder?
Michael Eisenwasser (Admin) said on September 28, 2011
Just upload the “buddyboss” folder. Overriding your existing “buddyboss” folder.
Michael Eisenwasser (Admin) said on September 28, 2011
I repackaged the ZIP file so you should no longer see that extra file.

Thank you for your quick response.

I’m having trouble integrating bbpress. Also, since I had to create new pages, the page slugs are buggy!
Michael Eisenwasser (Admin) said on September 28, 2011
Go into the bbPress forums settings. You should be able to change the slug that bbPress uses there.

Digging it, thanks Michael. Once question, I seem to have a new view in the profile that shows up blank:
membername/forums/
membername/forums/topics/
membername/forume/replies/
All return a blank view (the rest of the theme and the menus etc. are all there- just a blank pane to the right.
Any quick ideas? We’re attempting to debug now as we’re doing a beta rollout tonight.

Not sure. The URL structure should be /members/membername/forums/
/members/ being the URL of your members directory.
